WE, THE CITIZENS OF DELHI, demand that
· There must be complete transparency in the way MCD Councillors - our elected representatives – disburse the annual discretionary Councillor Fund allocated to them. Information on each work undertaken using the Councillor Fund should be made available in easy to understand language in the public domain through the MCD website and on prominently placed boards in each Ward.
· A set of guidelines on how the discretionary Councillor Fund should be spent must be evolved through public consultation and adopted. This would help ensure that the councillor funds are spent judiciously on works that address the most pressing development needs of the residents of each Ward.
